One of the good things about a working learning management system is that it lets you divide your training modules into smaller parts. This has proven to be pretty useful in many learning or training situations.

Much like the traditional learning system, a working online learning environment requires the active participation of different kinds of people who have different interests and needs, namely:
A good Learning Management System (LMS) will allow your students to be able to browse through a wide range of different courses, sub courses, and lessons so that they can customize their learning process. This allows them to learn the specific things they want to know about – a kind of flexibility that isn’t normally available with traditional learning systems.
Employing a Learning Management System (LMS) can be pretty innovative on your part when setting up an online learning environment. It’s more convenient, automated, and more accessible. But it’s important to note that just like the traditional classroom setting there are factors that you still need to deal with as well. One such factor is maintaining learner interest.
Apart from enrolling in courses, taking classes, and completing assignments, students who are looking for a good Learning Management System are also looking for additional features that will make their lives more convenient. If you want to gain a competitive edge over other websites that offer online courses, you’re going to want to cater to these needs as well.
One of the best indicators of a working learning environment is student participation. The effort that students make to contribute or seek more for a particular class shows their genuine interest or at least willingness to find ways to make the most out of each session.
A Learning Management System (LMS) that has a rich video library presents many opportunities for the learners, teachers, and administrators. There’s just so much a learning environment can potentially become when it has a rich media resource. Videos are particularly useful for instruction and demonstration while keeping the lessons interesting altogether.
Just like in a traditional learning environment, an online school needs to be able to pace its curriculum properly in order to avoid imbalanced distribution of courses. This is important for retention and producing better quality students overall. This is why your own Learning Management System (LMS) should have the ability to control when and how each student accesses certain lessons that are relevant to their courses. The strategy, however, will vary depending on your needs.
As a business, your goals with any Learning Management System (LMS) will always include money. On the administrative end, you need to be able to take full control of all the finances that circulate the system. Here are some of the things you should look into:
If you’re running a large eLearning system (or planning to expand to one), then you’ll most likely be hiring lots of teachers and instructors to help facilitate all your classes. And because you’ll be relying on them to do much of the teaching work, such as making lessons, monitoring students, etc., you need to make sure that your Learning Management System (LMS) has everything they need to get the job done.
We recently released Guru with the all-new frontend Teacher Interface. The feedback has been fantastic but we knew that we could do even better. We wanted to make the administrator's work simpler and the teacher earnings more transparent. See the changelog.
We've done it.
We've just released a new version, version 2.2.7. In this version we added a new page for students: My Quizzes/Final Exams. This page allows your students to easily track all their quizzes/final exams in one page. See the screen capture below, or check out our demo to see it live.
Are you worried about migrating Guru to Joomla 3.0? Think it’s going to be complicated? Scared it will eat up an entire morning? Frightened you’ll end up gnawing the desk in frustration?
No wonder you’ve been putting it off.
But you don’t need to procrastinate any more!
eLearning is exploding! Sites like Lynda.com and Udemy.com are already making millions selling online courses. And you know what?
So can you.
Three years ago, we released an amazing eLearning system called “Guru.” This powerful extension allows you to create courses and generate passive income through online education. Guru has evolved very nicely since then, becoming ever more powerful and feature-rich. You can check out Guru’s website to learn more, or try our demo to see just what it can do. It’s very cool.
Creating a great video course isn't easy. You have to really dedicate yourself to producing content that will not only convey knowledge but also interest students. And once you've produced those videos, you have to add them to Guru. That's work.
In the responses to our recent survey, one request came up again and again.
Publishers wanted a way to let teachers add their own courses themselves.
The new front-end Teacher Interface has been a massive hit. We've received fantastic feedback. People have loved it — and that makes us very happy!
Final Exam is a new feature that was quietly released a few weeks ago. In addition to adding quizzes throughout the course, you can now also set up a final exam built from questions in the various quizzes.
Because you can set an exam as a criterion that students must pass, the Final Exam feature is closely related to the Certificates feature.

I am happy to annouce the release of a new version of Guru, version 2.2.4! In this version, we added a feature that you all have been asking for since day one: Certificates!
Here’s something that I know will go down well…
…Guru now integrates fully with Kunena!
Kunena is a great forum extension for Joomla. We've been using it on iJoomla for a while and we love it. We knew it would make a great partner for Guru.
