Easily migrate your Guru data from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 2.5
If
you think that migrating your site to Joomla 2.5 is hard and

when it comes to moving your Joomla extensions’ data to the Joomla 2.5
platform.
As a user of Guru you’ve probably accumulated a significant amount of data in your on your Joomla 1.5 site. Our new Guru migration tool allows you move that date easily.

How It Works
1. Get the migration tool

2. Migrate your Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 2.5 site using JUpgrade
- You can download JUpgrade free here
3. Export your data
- Install the migration tool on your Joomla 1.5
- Go to components -> iJoomla Migrate Guru

Click the red export button (1)Choose iJoomla Guru from the drop down menu and click Start

You will now see the path where the exported file was saved. Copy this path and save it somewhere for later use.
4. Import the data
- Login to the new Joomla 2.5 site
- Install iJoomla Guru (download the new version here)
- Install the same migration tool on your new Joomla 2.5
- Go to components -> iJoomla Migrate Guru
- Click the blue Import button (2)
- Upload the file you've exported earlier to the path specified with the yellow background, make sure it's in the administrator directory!
- Refresh the page to see the file on the list
- Select this file on the list
- Click Start
5. Make sure all the data was migrated properly by visiting you iJoomla Guru
- Check that all the teachers are there
- Check that all the students are there
- Check that all the courses are there
- Check that all the media items are there
6.Migrate the media files
Download the following directories from the Joomla 1.5 to the same location on Joomla 2.5:
images/stories/guru
media/videos
media/audio
media/documents
media/files
If you miss this step, all the media files will be missing.
